about
blog
Think of this blog as a kind of anchor; it is a central hub that enables me to follow blogs, interact with posts, and send messages. All side-blogs attached to this hub are disclosed on the next page of this Carrd. If you are interested in following any of my muses' side-blogs, you are not obligated to follow my main blog; that's not the measure I use to determine whether we're 'mutuals' or not.
author
I have many names but, primarily, I go by Suit and I use they/them or it/its pronouns. I have been an internet-based roleplayer, on several different forum pages and websites, since 2008 — and have roleplayed on Tumblr since 2011. If there is anything more you want to know about me, you are welcome to look through my personal Carrd.
muses
The characters I write for are divided between side-blogs attached to this one. Some side-blogs are multi-muse while others represent standalone characters and they are organized accordingly; a directory of these side-blogs can be found on the next page.
rules
basics
• Absolutely no god-modding or metagaming. Don't write for my characters' words, actions, thoughts, or feelings. That's my character! It's my responsibility to tell their side of a story; focus on your own. Don't prescribe unwitting characters with omniscient knowledge of everything happening around them in our threads or other interactions; this kills any conflict or stakes and makes the roleplaying very un-fun! Don't do this.• I'm an adult over 21 years of age (b. 1997) and sexually suggestive content is likely to appear on my side-blogs, depending on which characters are being portrayed or represented, while sexually explicit content will be tagged for blacklists and Tumblr's filtering feature. Minors are discouraged from interacting with my blogs; please don't follow me if you are 16 years of age or younger. If you intend to roleplay sexually suggestive or explicit content with me, you must verify that you are an adult over 18 years of age. No exceptions.• I trust that the people I'm writing with are decent human beings, so expressing bigoted opinions of any kind is a quick way to get yourself blocked. If having a firm list of my "do not interact" criteria would comfort you to see, please refer to the third page of my personal Carrd for that information.
specifics
• I do not publish rude messages or hate mail, at all. Whether it's anonymous or not, you're not going to be entertained with a response; if you send me angry, bitter, insulting, or otherwise negative messages, I'm going to hard-block you across all of my blogs and side-blogs, end of story.• If you associate with needlessly rude or offensive muns, especially those who engage in targeted harassment of other roleplayers or bloggers, you will not be spared the block button.• My dedicated side-blogs for characters and muses are a bit like interactive image boards which often include aesthetic, character development, world-building, or other inspiration posts; please do not reblog these kinds of posts from my side-blogs in an attempt to start a thread or other interaction with my character(s). It is basic Tumblr roleplay etiquette not to hijack random bloggers' posts with in-character additions. Please don't destroy non-roleplayers' activity pages with in-character comments and replies on their posts, especially artists. I don't want to have to explain Tumblr etiquette to anyone after having been on this site for over a decade. If you break this rule, you will make a clown of yourself to this entire website.
other
style
• I have roleplayed with lots of other writers in many formats across several different mediums but I strongly prefer writing things in a paragraph-based narrative format which follows a — rough, at least — plot and some synergy or chemistry of some kind between our muses.• I often adjust typos and capitalization in others' replies on my threads. If this offends you, we aren't going to be a good match.• I am a semi-selective roleplayer and this is true across all of my side-blogs. We don't need to be mutuals to have our characters interact but I will publish responses to messages at my discretion and I prefer to chat with other muns about the direction and loose structure or progression of a thread before writing starters or replies. Talk to me! I don't bite. I want to get to know your character(s) first and let you get to know mine before we shove them into situations together.• My muses are multi-verse — and, if relevant, multi-ship — by default. I write to explore all kinds of possibilities for my characters and I don't vibe with things like ship- or verse-exclusivity and I encourage interactions with 'duplicates'. So, for example: If one of my characters were interacting with somebody else's muse for Spock from Star Trek, that doesn't mean your muse for Spock can't also interact with my character; the interactions we write between my character and your Spock will exist in a parallel 'verse. Simple as that.
personal
• I need plain text for accessibility reasons! I use text-to-speech to process posts. Please do not use small text, <pre> (or "code") text, subscript, superscript, cursive fonts, extra spacing between words or letters, or any other unnecessary over-formatting in your posts if you want me to be able to read them. If you post your replies or other important information as image files of text, you can forget it. I'm not responding.
• If it seems like necessarily-relevant information to provide, I will inform you of my squicks and triggers if we are mutuals and planning to write together. Please be respectful of them and observe my boundaries.
activity
• I am a grown, bills-paying adult with a full-time job that clocks exactly 40 hours of my time on the weekly and I frequently experience burnout because of this. Please be patient with me! I'm not going to block you if you unintentionally spam me with your pokes and nudges to respond to you — but I will if you're rude about it.• Don't assume my casual lurking and posting (to any blog or side-blog) is a proper indication of my energy levels. I might be posting some background details about a character or answering some asks to clear out my drafts but it doesn't mean I have the energy to provide you with the reply you deserve. Craft takes time and effort. Don't try to coerce me into sacrificing that — it will only burn me out faster.• I strongly prefer planning threads and chatting over Discord. If you ask for my Discord tag to add me as a friend, I will gladly give it to you so we can talk to each other. If you do not use Discord, you will need to be extra patient with me. Tumblr direct-messages are hard for me to read, the notifications are incredibly laggy (if they even show me notifications at all), and I constantly find myself having to restart the app just so that messages will populate in chronological order. It's buggy and I would prefer messaging literally anywhere else. I can tolerate it if you don't use Discord and don't have any alternatives, but it would be to your benefit to consider using it.• For reference, I'm a North American and my time zone is GMT -6
password
• If you want to collaborate in writing something between our characters, you need to send me this password before our muses can interact:
Sending this password indicates that you have read and understand all of the rules listed above. If you violate any of these rules after sending this password, you will be warned to read the rules again. Violating my rules a second time will get you blocked.
